We are moving! The Heuristic and Evolutionary Algorithms Laboratory (HEAL) has a shiny new home page. For more current information about the research group (and in particular, an up-to-date list of publications) please visit heal.heuristiclab.com from now on. Our optimization framework HeuristicLab will also get a new development homepage and blog to celebrate the release of HeuristicLab 3.3. The old homepage will go offline in the next couple of weeks, as soon as all the content has been migrated.

We are proud to annouce that team HEAL made first place in the symbolic regression competition and second place in the financial time series prediction competition in the EvoCompetitions side event of Evo*2010. To generate the models for the competitions we used a pre-release candidate of HeuristicLab which also includes plugins for genetic programming. The results show that HeuristicLab is powerful and flexible enough to achieve competitive results for real world applications with minimal preparation effort.
